As we expand, we’re looking for a General Manager – Row Cropping to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms in Griffith, NSW. The General Manager – Row Cropping is the lead member of the Rombola Family Farms production team. This role will oversee the entire cropping process over both of our growing sites. Key operational accountabilities include:Contributes proactively and constructively to production team discussion about varietal selection based on consumer, production, and supply chain. Proactively manage all new varietal trials and full supply chain analysis for presentation to the Managing Director.Contributes constructively and proactively to production team discussion about the design of production schedules with market timing, volume, quality attributes and internal capacity constraints in mind.Contributes proactively and constructively to production team discussions to determine the detail of production systems to be implemented by crop.Monitor the agreed production schedule to ensure all tasks are completed in line with agreed timing for all plantings.Monitor all plantings throughout the production cycle to ensure all tasks are routinely performed to agreed standard and produce the required outcome.Liaise with the production team to alter irrigation, nutrition, weed, pest & disease control and sun screening in a planting as required.Monitor crop health and produce maturity in order to forecast volume & quality by week.Actively and effectively communicate with outsourced agronomists and consultants.Liaises with the maintenance function to ensure row cropping production teams have the highest possible equipment availability. To be successful in the role you will possess the following:Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management capacity within the horticulture industryExtensive production experience with row cropsSkilled at crop health, production planning, pest and disease management Tertiary qualifications in agriculture will be highly regarded.
