Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Pharmacology or a related discipline with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, and to establish an original, competitive, independent, and externally funded research program as well as expected to contribute significantly to undergraduate, graduate and professional education in pharmacology. We are seeking an outstanding individual whose research expertise and teaching interests complement and enhance the Department's existing central research themes around pharmacology and toxicology . The successful candidate will be able to advance Machine Learning and Self Driving Lab approaches in combination with data mining and biological models to further accelerate translation of their discoveries to potential human use. In addition, by becoming a member of the Acceleration Consortium , the successful candidate will also benefit from a world class environment in the broader fields of medical and artificial intelligence research. The position is a critical new addition to the department and is part of a major strategic area of development for the department and Faculty of Medicine. The successful candidate will benefit from a competitive startup package supported jointly by the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicologyand the Acceleration Consortium. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top:ranked and field relevant venues or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments which can include superior performance as a teaching assistant or course instructor, experience leading successful workshops or seminars, student mentorship and/or conference presentations. These should be evident in the submitted teaching dossier including a teaching statement and other required materials outlined below as well as strong letters of reference.
