LORICA is searching for an Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic to join our production team full-time in our facility in Chilliwack. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and supervision of maintaining Production equipment and contributing to the manufacturing of high-quality technical products for law enforcement and military applications. Job details · Location: 44467 Yale Rd, CHILLIWACK, BRITISH COLUMBIA, V2R 4H2 · · Salary: Wage ranges from $36 to $40/hour · Vacancies: 1 · Employment groups: Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, Visible minorities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, Seniors · Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time ,30- 40 hours / week · Start date: As soon as possible Job requirements · Languages: English · Education: Completion of secondary school is required. · Experience: Minimum two years of related experience OR completion of related apprenticeship program is required. · Attention to detail and the ability to contribute to the strict quality standards · Organizational skills · Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment working together towards goals · Team player able to interact Tasks · Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions and apply repairs and procedures to make sure sewing, cutting and other production equipment run properly · Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements · Repair or replace defective machinery parts · Estimate costs and materials · Perform routine maintenance work on machinery · Operate machining tools to fabricate parts · Installing machinery and equipment: assemble and install new sewing machines and other equipment · Set-up and adjust sewing machines for new patterns and products · Set-up binders, folders and other sewing machine attachments · Setup, operate, maintain and repair programmable sewing machines · Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and communicate upcoming repairs and replacement requirements to the management team · Maintain a clean work environment · Other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of our production team.
