In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets. Working with Richardson opens to door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Chief Power Engineer at our Lethbridge, AB location. Responsibilities:Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rulesParticipate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:Always using the required personal protective equipmentEnsuring that authorized work is completed safelyUtilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazardsParticipating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiativesReporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedureSupervise the overall operation and maintenance of all plant utility systems to ensure reliable and efficient servicePlan, schedule, and coordinate regular preventative and shutdown maintenance for all utilities and site servicesProvide effective leadership to the department and make a positive contribution to the continuous improvement of the departmentManage fire safety systems and equipment maintenance to ensure applicable safety procedures are followedAssist in project management for capital projects regarding utilities and site servicesEnsures that all equipment certification, inspection and tests are up kept, scheduled and recordedMonitor department and utility budgetsOther duties as assigned Qualifications:A valid 2nd Class Power Engineering CertificateMinimum five years’ experience coupled with post-secondary education and extensive managerial and technical experience of all utilities and comprehensive supervisory experienceExcellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision making skillsSupervisory experience in a unionized environmentStrong commitment to health, safety and environmentDirect involvement and expertise with employee health & safety and food safety programs an asset Richardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, benefits and training and career development opportunities. Interested candidates should click the Apply to this Position icon to apply online by February 29, 2024. Richardson International values diversity in the workplace.
