The Planning, Budget and Finance Office provides strategic and operational advice on the financial and budget management of the Faculty, as well as internal institutional and Faculty research data and business support services to all of the Faculty's units. The Office models, plans, and implements the Faculty's operating budget and provides Faculty:wide support and advice on the management of research, restricted and trust funds; financial analyses and forecasting; strategic planning and budget analysis; policy compliance and develops and delivers finance and business training seminars for A and S academic administrators and administrative staff. Your opportunity: Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Payroll and Accounting Services, the incumbent will be responsible for reviewing financial documentation received from administrative units across the Dean's office and from academic units within the Faculty of Arts and Science. The incumbent will review these submissions for compliance with all applicable University policies and guidelines. These may pertain to travel and reimbursable expenses, procurement, accounts payable and payroll. This position will have close interaction with senior leaders across the Faculty of Arts and Science, to coordinate requirements for additional information or supporting documentation needed to expedite the processing of financial, procurement and payroll transactions. Your responsibilities will include: :Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate :Monitoring, recording, reconciling and/or reporting on accounts :Collecting, submitting, processing, and auditing expense reimbursement claims :Providing advice and data to support the development of business cases and analytics for departmental initiatives :Identifying and resolving individual data anomalies and discrepancies :Verifying that FIS and HRIS transactions are processed according to applicable policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements :Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirements :Serving as a resource to others by providing (non:supervisory) job:related guidance Essential Qualifications: :Bachelors Degree in a recognized accounting program or an acceptable combination of education and experience. :Minimum three years of recent and related experience with financial accounting and payroll accounting in a postsecondary education or research:intensive institution. :Demonstrated experience with SAP:based system and with the University's Financial Information System (FIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS). :Experience applying rulesand procedures of the University of Toronto, Guide to Financial Management and the Ontario Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement Directive. :Experience working with general accepted accounting principles. :Ad
