About us:
The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer's (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.
The Student Information Systems (SIS) group is a team within the Chief Information Officer's (CIO) Division. The SIS team manages enterprise:level student, curricular and administrative applications in support of the student lifecycle and associated capabilities. This includes administration and continued development of the Repository of Student Information (ROSI), the University's Student Information System, along with various vendor:supported and specialized web applications in the areas of degree, program and course governance and administration, course and exam offering and syllabus management, academic advising, accommodated test management, timetable management, amongst other capabilities.
Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Manager, Products and Applications, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University's administrative management and student systems. You will work in cross:functional teams with developers, analysts, designers and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile. You will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and be responsible for producing high quality code. Specifically, you will be involved in the development of the Accessibility Services Platform Replacement (ASPR), including implementation in existing platforms (ACORN, CIS). You will work closely with managers, senior stakeholders and team leads. You may be involved in work with associated systems in the Student InformationSystems group.
Your responsibilities will include:
:Evaluating programming code to ensure it has validity, compatibility, and that it meets appropriate standards
:Analyzing, recommending and designingtechnical solutions for highly complex IT problems
:Designing, testing, and modifying programming code
:Analyzing programming solutions to ensure compliance with best practices and industry standards
:Analyzing, troubleshooting and testing complex systems.
:Keeping well:informed on current technologies, best practices and industry standards.
:Creating complex and technical documentation and user support guides.
Essential Qualifications:
:Bachelors Degree in computer science or acceptable equivalent of education and experience.
:Minimum five years relevant experience in full stack application development; Java and Angular (13+) experience is required.
:Minimumfive years working with Java applications, including REST API development and OAuth 2.
:Minimum four years building front end applications using Angular and AngularJS.
:Experience working in a development team environment using git, code reviews and pull requests.
:Experience building applications that are secure, performant and maintainable.
