As Manager, MedStore, you will work in close partnership with the Manager of Planning and Operations to oversee the day:to:day operations of MedStore, the preferred supplier to the medical research community in the Discovery District. Your key responsibilities will include, managing shipping and receiving, developing and implementing operational and marketing strategies, and forecasting and overseeing the annual operating budget. As a people:first leader, you will mentor and empower a high performing administrative team and you will provide strategic operational guidance that drives continuous innovation and improvement, ensuring consistent high:quality client service.
Essential Qualifications
:University degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
:Minimum five (5) years of experience in a senior administrative warehouse logistics, retail or customer service role in a supply and shipping and receiving facility, preferably within a postsecondary environment.
:Proven management and leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment; experience in teambuilding and managing change
:Demonstrated experience in financial and human resource management, including a proven track record of success in leading and mentoring staff in a unionized environment
:An advocate for building diverse and inclusive workplaces and leading successful change
:Experience supporting strategic planning initiatives and managing and overseeing complex administrative processes
:Ability to interpret complex policies and procedures related to financial and space issues
:Demonstrated knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, including interpretation of collective agreements
:Demonstrated experience in liaising with senior administrators, responding to and handling matters of a complex and sensitive nature
:Demonstrated experience with working with external suppliers a vendors, including a proven track record of success with contract/price negotiation
:Experience with developing marketing concepts and strategies to promote MedStore services
:Experience with developing operating budgets, including but not limited to financial planning, forecasting, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, and reporting
:Strong proficiency with personal computers and related software, including advanced proficiency in MSWord and Excel
:Knowledge of the University's Administrative Management System (AMS), including the Financial Information System (FIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS), or a similar large enterprise system
:Client:services oriented with demonstrated listening and critical thinking skills
:Strong decision:making skills; superior planning and project management skills with a focus on executing and competing tasks under pressure and within deadlines
:Ability to maintain a broad perspective; ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with all levels of faculty, staff, students, senior administration and external constituents

:Experience with the University's budget model, policies, procedures, guidelines, systems and structure is highly desirable
