University of Toronto Faculty of Information Sessional Lecturer Fall Term 2025 (September : December) MSL2352H : Foundations of Visitor Research Course Description:This course is intended to provide students with an introduction to the history, theory, and practice of visitor research in museums. Through course readings, guest lectures by museum professionals working in the field, and practical experience with instrument development as well as data collection, analysis and reporting, among other pedagogical strategies, students will learn institutions' methods for learning about their audiences and evaluating museum exhibitions and programs. Qualifications:Preferably candidates will have a completed, or nearly completed, PhD degree in an area related to the course or a Master's degree plus extensive professional experience in an area related to the course. Teaching experience is preferred.
