JOB OVERVIEW Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results:driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Technical Engineer/Officer. Reporting to the Manager, Central Chemistry, this position is responsible to monitor and analyze plant information and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends, provide troubleshooting solutions, and advocate for opportunities to improve system performance. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES : Prepare systems health reports and action plans to sustain and improve system performance, identify system risk, and support improvement modifications : Monitor system performance by analyzing plant information, identifying trends, providing troubleshooting solutions to the station, and advocating for opportunities to improve system health : Develop and support the execution of projects in compliance with the industry's demanding set of regulations and standards : Maintain written documented processes and procedures to reflect improve operating methods and additions to all supported systems : Work with a multi:disciplined team of engineering and technical specialists to support the operation of various mechanical and electrical systems; coordinate the clarification of specification requirements and arrange for necessary changes and/or coordinate technical work as required in several major work areas : Maintaining and updating operating and other specified department/divisional procedures : Provide technical evaluations and advice, solve problems, and coordinate technical work as required, in a number of major work areas, in support of the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of facilities. QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Applied Science; Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is preferred : Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chemical Engineer; experience in the Nuclear environment is preferred : Ability to work as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisfy stakeholder requirements : Strong technical writing skills; strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead meetings and give presentations : Experience and willingness to interface with vendors : Ability to understand, execute, and follow governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum supervision; the ideal candidate will have a strong industrial production mindset : Knowledge of OPG's ECC (Engineering Change Control) Process is an asset : Ability to work in a fast:paced, challenging work environment : Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.
