This full:time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Teacher (CT) or a Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI) at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, or Associate Professor. It is expected that the position will be approximately 80 clinical and 20 teaching for a CT, or 80 clinical and 20 in Quality and Innovation for a CQI. Expected start date is July 1, 2025, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter. We are seeking a physician who will foster excellence in PM and R with broad clinical and teaching interests related to PM and R and particular interests including: rehabilitation outcomes, clinical epidemiology and health services, complex medical conditions, and inpatient cardiac care. This position will be primarily based at the St. John's Rehabilitation campus of SHSC (285 Cummer Ave, North York, ON M2M 2G1) and will involve inpatient rehabilitation consultation on the Cardiovascular and Amputee Rehab unit, with outpatient MSK and/or Amputee clinics at the St. John's Rehab and/or Bayview campus (2075 Bayview Ave, North York, ON M4N 3M5). Responsibilities will include demonstrated excellence in clinical care, participation in inpatient rehabilitation programs, and clinical teaching, as well as relevant quality and innovation projects. The successful candidate will join the energetic program in PM and R with academically focused faculty members at SHSC. There are also a wealth of academic opportunities in collaboration with clinician scientists and investigators in departments and areas such as geriatrics, orthopedics, surgery, neurology, family medicine and trauma. The Division of PM and R at the University of Toronto is a strong academic program with over 80 faculty members and 20 residents, and with programs extending across the Greater Toronto Area. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is a world leader in trauma care, emergency and critical care, brain sciences, heart and stroke disorders, and musculoskeletal care. The successful candidate must hold an MD degree and must have or be eligible for certification in PM and R by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; and have or be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario. The successful candidate must be proficient in the English language. Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered.
