Your attention to detail and technical curiosity drive you to explore, create, innovate, and transform. As senior engineer, protection and control, youll perform fault studies, system protection analysis, and provide protection relay settings for transmission, distribution, and generation systems. Reporting to the engineering supervisor, protection and control, this position focuses on providing technical support and field engineering assistance to various business units across the Company while working to increase reliability, operability, safety, and minimize costs. In this role, you will: :Interpret and apply complex regulations and design standards, using professional and engineering principles to address varying situations. :Perform independent inspections to ensure compliance with requirements, recommend corrective actions, and assist with broader scope inspections. :Write moderately complex permits and documents, including performing modelling under guidance to ensure compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations. :Develop plans and basic designs with minimal direction, validate designs with stakeholders, and perform in:depth data analysis for input into plans. Review and make recommendations on moderately complex plans and designs for internal approval. What it takes: :A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university, plus a minimum of four to seven years of recent and related experience. :A Professional Engineering designation with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) or with another province that is eligible for registration with EGBC. :An equivalent combination of education, related training, and experience may be considered. :A strong understanding of utility operations with experience in utility system protection. This includes working knowledge of protection schemes for transmission and distribution substations as well as generating stations. :Working knowledge of engineering studies software (Aspen OneLiner) and ability to program protective, metering, and control devices.
