As our Logistics Supervisor, you will be instrumental to keeping our transportation networks moving smoothly, from international shipments to local deliveries. About Ethnic Supermarket: Ethnic Supermarket is a supermarket chain with two stores in Guelph and Milton. Our stores offer an extensive selection of multicultural foods, grocery items, and prepared meals, with over 30,000 unique products to explore. Position Responsibilities: · Supervise the logistics team in their daily operations and provide training, guidance, and performance feedback · Foster a collaborative work environment, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure adherence to company policies · Oversee inbound shipments to our central warehouse in Oakville, including from international and domestic suppliers · Manage customs clearance and ensure compliance with all import regulations, primarily for shipments from Chinese suppliers · Collaborate with global shipping and customs agents to ensure accurate documentation and compliance for shipments · Ensure on-time deliveries from our central warehouse to our two supermarkets located in Guelph and Milton · Ensure efficient scheduling for shipment pickups and deliveries with carriers · Monitor and track shipments throughout the shipment process and ensure successful final delivery · Work closely with internal departments, suppliers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, customs brokers, and trucking teams · Review and confirm the accuracy of all freight documents and booking details before shipment · Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and delivery performance · Negotiate competitive freight rates with carriers while fostering strong and reliable service partnerships · Ensure accurate shipment billing by verifying that all service charges are included and match with quoted rates · Address and resolve logistics and operational challenges, implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues Qualifications: · College diploma or above · 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations in a supervisory or management role · 5+ years of experience in managing international shipments, especially from Chinese suppliers · Strong knowledge of logistics best practices, customs documentation, and effective use of transportation networks · Proficient in staff supervision, workload planning, and setting performance objectives · Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is an asset but not a requirement · Excellent time management, initiative, problem-solving, and organizational skills How To Apply: Please send your resume to ethnicsupermarketjobs@gmail.com to apply to our Logistics Supervisor position.
