Scope of Responsibility The Operations Team Leader is responsible for successfully running production activities and resources for a specified manufacturing area, to deliver the agreed business results and drive continuous improvement, while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives (EOHS, Quality, FP&R), Microbiology, Labor Relations, People and Team Development. Primary Responsibilities The responsibility includes but is not limited to: Handling people, materials and equipment by active presence on the shop floor to achieve the daily production schedule and deliver KPI's Accountable for Operational Excellence initiatives (EOHS, Quality, FP&R) activities of the production area to deliver high levels of service to internal customers Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive standards and government's regulations related to area of responsibility Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures, e.g. crewing, shift rotation, vacation scheduling, etc. to meet business needs Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by way of training, information sharing, mentor, feedback, delegation, and performance management Understand and comply with all OPERA requirements Demonstrates understanding, ensures adherence of and applies relevant Corporate and Site EOHS policies and procedures including, but not limited to Minimum Safe Behaviors (MSB), Lockout / Tag-out (LOTO) Hazardous Communications Requirements (HazCom) Actively participates in walkthrough to identify issues and follow-up on corrective actions Able to complete a workplace observation per standards Participates in Incident Reporting & Incident Investigations Knows Emergency Response plan and implements, when needed Demonstrates understanding, ensures adherence of and applies relevant Corporate and Site Quality policies and procedures Knows basics of GMPs Performs good documentation practices Actively participates in walkabouts to identify issues and follow-up on corrective actions Knows accurate storage and handling Knows basic cleaning and sanitization steps and assure they are completed accurately Understands change control processes FP&R Understand plant’s FP&R mission and program status Familiar of 8 Standards Lead and/or facilitate Autonomous Maintenance initiatives in work area Understands Planned Maintenance process and how it impacts production operations Understands the process of a Standard Daily Meeting and participates in reporting for specific area Understands the manufacturing process from raw materials to finished good with particular focus on EOHS, Quality, FP&R, documentation and problem resolution Facilitates shift change meetings to ensure uninterrupted operations Able to complete the basic SAP transactions related to running production operations Understands production schedules and able to successfully communicate plan to shop-floor Applies Root Cause Analysis methods for problem solving Understands change management process and implements appropriately Executes an operating budget and cost control programs within area Understands operational KPI's and how they are impacted Ensures the development of team members Adheres to and holds others accountable to the Code of Conduct Demonstrates Colgate Values and Leading with Respect principles Applies Colgate Shop-Floor Coaching and Feedback model Activity coaches team members; gives and receives feedback Implements Human Resource policies and practices consistently Our Commitment to Sustainability With the Colgate brand in more homes than any other, we are presented with great opportunities and new challenges as we work to integrate sustainability into all aspects of our business and create positive social impact.
