Applications Engineer Job Overview: My client, a market leader in renowned sliding head and fixed head machinery, is looking to recruit an Applications Engineer to join their growing team. This field-based role offers the opportunity to work with some of the best technology available in the UK and provide technical solutions to their diverse customer base. My client has been a trusted name in the industry for decades, offering secure employment in a friendly, technically stimulating environment. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their Applications Engineering team and are seeking engineers with a strong background in programming and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Customer&Dealer Support: * Travel across the UK, Ireland, and overseas to provide machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and operator training. * Support dealers with machine demonstrations, machine settings, and programming assistance. Technical Expertise&Problem Solving: * Develop and implement machine programs to solve customer manufacturing problems. * Troubleshoot complex technical issues and offer concise, understandable solutions to customers. * Provide accurate cycle time estimations and process planning to optimise machine efficiency. Machine Installation&Testing: * Install machines at customer sites, ensuring full operational functionality and adherence to factory specifications. * Test machines and ensure they are fully operational, resolving any issues promptly. Training&Documentation: * Deliver training courses to customers and dealer staff to ensure effective machine operation. * Create and update training materials, reports, and troubleshooting documentation. Continuous Improvement: * Stay updated on new models and machine technologies to maintain the company’s competitive edge. * Assist in developing best practices and internal training materials. Experience and Skills Required: * Proven experience in an applications or technical support role within the machine tools or manufacturing industry. * Strong knowledge of metal cutting processes,tooling, and cutting techniques. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a simple and concise manner. * Full UK driving licence with flexibility for travel across the UK, Ireland, and international territories.
