Senior Systems Engineer Location: England, Central, South Reporting to: Field Services Manager Salary: Dependent on experience + car, fuel card, phone, laptop, benefits package, overtime and certified training About the job As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will deliver high-quality network solutions and support to customers, both remotely and on-site. You’ll work with enterprise and SMB networking solutions from top vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and HPE Aruba, managing routers, switches, access points, and management software. This role is perfect for someone passionate about network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and customer support, with opportunities to grow by cross-training on multi-vendor technologies and leading key projects. An essential part of the role is the on-call requirement, providing critical after-hours support to resolve urgent issues. What your role as a Senior Systems Engineer will involve: * Provide expert on-site support for customer faults, ensuring quick resolutions and minimal disruption. * Conduct site visits to assess and replace non-functional equipment, helping clients maintain optimal network performance. * Assist with customer add, move, and change requirements, ensuring smooth transitions and seamless network upgrades. * Develop your technical leadership skills by taking on project lead roles within the Project Management Office (PMO) and driving key initiatives to success. * Collaborate closely with project coordinators and lead engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects and exceed customer expectations. * Execute test scripts under supervision, documenting results and reporting issues to enhance design improvements and validate system development. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multivendor hardware, applying your maintenance and diagnostic skills to ensure high-quality service. * Install network equipment at diverse customer locations across the UK, ensuring high-quality and efficient setups. * Pre-stage router and switch installations in line with detailed documentation, ensuring readiness for installation at client sites. * Conduct project-based site surveys and document findings to ensure all installations are well-planned and executed. * Provide hands-on remote and on-site troubleshooting for multivendor network devices, swiftly addressing and resolving network challenges. The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have…* Comprehensive knowledge of Enterprise or SMB networking solutions from at least one major vendor (Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba). * Proficiency in configuring and managing Routers, Switches, Access Points (APs), and Management Software. * Vendor professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, Aruba Certified Professional) or equivalent demonstrable expertise. * A well-rounded understanding of routing and switching, with the ability to adapt and learn other vendor solutions. * Experience in installing and supporting network devices both onsite and remotely. * Familiarity with onboardingand implementing SD-WAN solutions and projects. * Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, customer adds/moves/changes, rollouts, and project-based installations. * Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to provide customer support. * Extremely well organised with good communicationskills and excellent spoken/ written English. * Full driving license About us Comms-care, part of the Ingram Micro Group, is a multi-award winning, channel only, leading IT Service Provider supporting customers across the UK&Ireland.
