Our well known client based in Blackburn, are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant. This company has expanded massively over the past 10 years and needs a strong Assistant Accountant to join and support the accounts team. Duties include: Assisting in the preparation of balance sheets, profit& loss accounts, and other key financial reports. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure payments to suppliers are processed on time and supplier accounts are reconciled. Help prepare tax returns, including VAT and other relevant filings. Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accurate inventory and WIP valuation. Verify and reconcile stock, ensuring accurate valuations and addressing any discrepancies. Work closely with the Stock team to ensure system-to-floor checks, quarantine movement authorisations, and inventory audits are completed in line with company policies. Assist in the timely closing of accounts and preparation for audits. Ideally you will have worked in a similar role and are looking for the next step up within your career. The client will pay study (CIMA/ACCA) should you wish to study. You need to have a real passion for accounting, be a good team player, a strong communicator and have an eye for detail.
