As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic Production Planner to complement their existing planning and scheduling division and provide support to the Production Manager in the scheduling of orders and general logistics support to meet the demands of the business. The successful Production Planner candidate will be responsible for planning production to a defined deadline, requiring an understanding of company needs based on stock, inventory, projects and plans as well as the understanding of general sales and market trends according to the industry and of company objectives in order to co:ordinate activities to support in meeting or exceeding the departmental KPIs and metrics. Other responsibilities for this varied and challenging Production Planner role will include (but not be limited to): * Scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels * Evaluating suppliers for quality, timeliness and match according to goals * Monitoring material supply flow and identifying any shortages or bottlenecks in usage * Identifying and resolving problems relating to inventory * Addressing issues regarding quality and production * Producing reports based on findings and performance of production * Managing deadlines based on project expectations * Forecasting market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends * Undertaking daily reviews of bill of materials, product routes and work centre capacity whilst working closely with stock controllers in order to determine raw material requirement dates for production. * Coordinating production workflow for multiple products on multiple work centres and both planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay * Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand and assigning workers and other staff to particular production operations, scheduling shifts according to production needs * Monitoring jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget * Addressing any issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption * Obtaining output information (number of finished products, percentage of defects or scrap etc.) * Preparing and submitting status and performance reports * Collaborating with quality control, warehouse and other staff as required To be considered for this exciting new and exclusive opportunity for 2025, you will essentially demonstrate extensive hands:on knowledge and experience in the use of SAP / ERP systems along with the Microsoft suite of packages and will demonstrate comprehensive experience of manufacturing processes, ideally gained within a busy pressing or machining environment. You will realistically be degree qualified or demonstrate at least 5 years experience gained in a Production Planning role allied to an engineering or technical manufacturing operation.
