Chemical Process Engineer Bradford Based PERMANENT Salary -£40k Our client, a global gasket manufacturer, is looking for a research scientist to assist and support the delivery of new products and technology development that contributes to the growth requirements of the business. The role holder will provide effective scientific and technical stewardshipin support of the business. In the traditional business but also the development of fuel cell and battery technologies of the future. As the research scientist you will have a high element of technical input at theoretical and practical levels. A background in Chemistry or Materials Science is required with experience in formulation an advantage. The role will include formulation of products containing rubber; therefore knowledge of rubber chemistry will be an advantage. Knowledge and experience in nanotechnology or composites would also be preferable. As the research scientist/checmical process engineer you will also have some commercial contact with new and existing customers, especially with regard to new products, particularly during the later stages of development. The role.... * Assist in reviewing ideas and developing potential new products in the fuel cell industry. * Assist with introduction of new products as required, though involvement with the research and development stages of projects, as well as assisting the piloting and manufacturing activities. * Familiar with conducting research and development in line with requirements of ISO9000 * Identifying new product opportunities * Conduct experiments and carry out scientific work * Contribute to the creation of project plans to fit overall project objectives * Maintain precise and accurate records * Conduct all work following good scientific and manufacturing practice * Providing product claims and substantiation to ensure efficacy and safety of new and existing products * Conducting test protocols and procedures, and product evaluation * Writing technical reports and cost estimates, documenting development work, and implementing profit improvement programmes * Other duties within the job-holders scope which are deemed necessary by the business in order for the job to be completed effectively The ideal candidate will be educated to a high standard in science, have experience in a similar technical or laboratory environment, knowledge of testing and technical equipment. You will be microsoft office proficient, organised, structured and be comfortable in report writing and data presentation to both internal and external parties.
