NXTGEN have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a growing and scaling tech company based in Cambridge. With new investment, the organisation is looking to scale quickly with operations already established across the globe and the Finance Manager will play a key role in taking the company on this exciting journey. You will be initially working as part of a small finance team meaning this role will be very hands on with the delivery of all month end and statutory reports so you will need to be someone who likes to be close to the numbers. At times you may be required to support with transactional responsibilities but as the company scales, the team will also scale with these tasks being passed to an Accounts Assistant. The Finance Manager will work closely with the CFO and as such, you will have significant interaction with the executive team to ensure that cash management and cashflow reporting are tightly monitored and controlled. With the ambitious vision that the executive team have for this business, there will be plenty of opportunities to add value through system and reporting improvements too. Key responsibilities of the role will include: Delivery of month end management accounts and commercial reporting for the board, identify areas for increase commercial performance Control of the budget and forecasting cycles, working with sales teams to closely monitor sales pipelines Effective cashflow management and reporting, with regular review of the organisations liquidity status as it scales Continual financial control review to ensure they are fit for purpose as the company grows Delivery of all technical submissions including VAT and Payroll for HMRCThe successful candidate will ideally be qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience working in an SME or scale up environment advantageous. You will be confident dealing with the executive team and providing input on financial strategy for the business. Previous experience working within the Tech or and R&D heavy sector would be beneficial but not essential. You will need to demonstrate a broad accounting background with confidence in technical submissions as well as the commercial mind-set to drive sales performance and revenue. As the business and role develops, there will be an opportunity to manage a small team so strong coaching and mentoring skills are key. If it suits the successful candidate, the role could be made full time as the organisation goes through it's next phase of growth.
