Job Description

Group Learning&Development Manager Healthcare (Attractive Salary, Car Allowance&Excellent Benefits) To lead on all aspects of Learning&Development across the group including the current portfolio of 11 care homes located throughout the south east. You will ensure training and development contributes to and influences improved performance, quality and compliance in the workplace at an individual, team, home and organisational level. You will be at the forefront of the learning, training and organisational development strategy, progress and implementation of group-wide training and development plans. Main Responsibilities: * Design and deliver a range of learning programmes and training and development solutions fit for a care home group positioning for further growth. * Lead a team of regional training professionals to continually enhance their own learning and that of staff within our care homes and amongst our senior management teams. * Work with business leaders and front-line managers to make sure our people have the right skills, knowledge and understanding to safely meet the needs of our customers. * Provide support to line managers to help with talent mapping and performance management. * Work closely with the Group Quality&Compliance Manager to ensure quality and compliance standards are consistently met. * Ensure our on-line learning platform is always fit for purpose to deliver our induction and ongoing learning for new team members. * Support learning across the business by developing and/or delivering training initiatives. * Embed a culture recognising the importance and benefits of training and development throughout the organisation and how this supports succession planning of our existing teams. * Oversee our on-line Performance Management system and annual performance review cycle, whilst also ensuring its continuing development and suitability. * Be responsible for managing and claiming training grants and sector funding across the Group ensuring robust mechanisms and procedures are in place. * Strive to ensure the Group becomes one of the leaders of training, learning and development within the care home sector. Experience and Skills required: * Previous experience of providing training to health and social care settings, along with training programme design and delivery– including e-learning, managing relationships with external providers and leading on face to face learning. * Understand and have experienced a variety of roles within a regulated care home environment. * Experience of supporting Home Managers to ensure staff achieve completion of the CareCertificate or similar standard across multiple sites. * Have a working knowledge of the funding streams for skills academies and apprenticeships. * Experience of the care sector and the legislation / regulations surrounding this is essential. * Passionate about the importance of the Learning sector and the impact a training and development function has on culture, retention and performance. * Experience of establishing and overseeing a mentoring / champion scheme in the health or social care sector would be preferred. * Comprehensive understanding and experience of Learning Management Systems within a care home environment. * Ability to work strategically providing dynamic and innovative solutions to business challenges. * Ability to manage change effectively and communicate the benefits of change. * A leader and mentor to an enthusiastic support team including regional trainers. * Strong understanding of business goals and high standards of customer service. * Key to success in the role will be the ability to establish positive working relationships with the Operational / Home management teams, be engaging and possess an ability to communicate effectively, build trust, and encourage participation in Group learning and development opportunities. * A previously registered Nurse with UK NMC PIN would be desirable, although not essential. * Degree level qualification or equivalent management qualification. * Proficient using Microsoft suites and other cloud-based IT systems.
