The Role: As a Supply Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils in Early Years and Key Stage 1. Your primary focus will be on fostering a love of learning and assisting with the delivery of high:quality education. A key part of this role will be supporting phonics sessions, helping children to decode words and begin their journey to becoming confident, fluent readers. Key Responsibilities: * Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons. * Leading small group and one:to:one phonics sessions, reinforcing learning and providing targeted support. * Assisting in the creation of a stimulating and positive classroom environment. * Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe, inclusive space for all pupils. * Preparing learning resources and assisting with classroom displays. * Supporting childrens social and emotional development. What We Are Looking For: * Previous experience working with primary:aged children in a school setting is highly desirable. * A strong and demonstrable understanding of systematic synthetic phonics schemes (such as Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, or Letters and Sounds). * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young children and work collaboratively with school staff. * A patient, energetic, and positive attitude. * A flexible and adaptable approach to working in different school environments. * A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is an advantage, but not essential. * An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one.
