This full:time, long:term Teaching Assistant role is to begin as soon as possible and offers an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis. The school is looking for a nurturing Teaching Assistant who can build strong, supportive relationships with children and contribute positively to the wider school community. About the Teaching Assistant Role: * The Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 2. * The pupil has a diagnosis of ASD, MLD, and some social and emotional needs. * The Teaching Assistant will focus on emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and supporting learning tasks. * The Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to deliver tailored strategies. * This Teaching Assistant role requires patience, creativity, and a flexible, child:led approach. The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will: * Have experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly ASD or MLD. * Be a Teaching Assistant who is resilient, empathetic, and proactive. * Be confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs in a classroom setting. * Be a Teaching Assistant who can remain calm, consistent, and encouraging. * Be a team player who communicates effectively with staff and families. Teaching Assistant Requirements: * Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing ). * Two professional references covering the last two years. * Right to work in the UK. * Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant role, ideally with SEND experience.
