Job Title: Lead SHEQ Advisor (Environmental and Carbon Lead) Salary: Competitive Location: Duncan Street, Salford with travel to sites nationally Job Type: Permanent, Full time Working Hours: 40 hours per week About Us: Excalon is a leading infrastructure contractor specialising in the provision of services to the utilities industry. Purpose of the role: To ensure the Company meets the health and safety standards through the implementation of the Company Integrated Management System (IMS) ensuring compliance with government regulations and industry best practice. To support the Head of SHEQ to develop the SHEQ Advisor to achieve Company standards. Act as Environmental and Carbon Lead for the Company developing the Excalon environmental impact and carbon reduction strategy. Please note that due to the nature of the role the candidate will need to have a full drivers licence and be flexible with travelling nationwide to be considered for this role. Key Accountabilities: * Act as escalation for SHEQ matters in the absence or cover for Head of SHEQ * Develop and review CPPs before they are issued for Construction. * Carry out H and S Inspections at regular intervals on all projects. * Co:ordinate Accident Reporting and Investigation. * Log and monitor hazard reports * Keep up to date with H and S Legislation and Construction Industry Best Practice. * Deal with queries and correspondence on H and S issues. Provide advice as required. * Issue H and S Alerts or Guidance as appropriate. * To know and implement the requirements of the organisations IMS and Health and Safety Policy. * Manage and Mentor management of employees to ensure implementation of the IMS and safe conduct of work whilst promoting best practices. * Act as environmental and carbon reduction lead for the company, acting as organisational advisor and working collaboratively to develop the environmental strategy. * Establish environmental risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies to minimise the impact of work activities on the organisation and environment. * Set realistic carbon reduction goals and monitoring current carbon emissions to identify key reduction opportunities. * To carry out internal audits in accordance with the audit programme. * Implement Processes for Companies Health and Safety procedures. * Assist in coordinating and supporting the health, safety and training structure of the company. * Assist in establishing a regime to ensure that the work teams and depots are monitored by the health and safety company process via inspections and audit. * Produce non:conformance records including corrective and /or preventive remedie * Prepare and distribute lessons learnt. * Assist SHEQ team with external accreditations ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, NERS, Achilles * Review and update company procedures * Liaises with safety representatives and operatives.
