JustOT are looking to recruit a band 6 Social Services Occupational Therapist for a locum position to work within our team in Worthing. The pay for this position is up to GBP38 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. Location: West Sussex Working arrangements: Hybrid, 1 day a week (where feasible) Job Description : Working as an Occupational Therapist in the Countywide review team, your role will involve working with adults from 18 years and upwards with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and chronic health conditions. The focus is to complete a thorough strengths:based review, but tasks will also include mental capacity act assessments and Continuing Health Care checklists and decision support tools. You will work as part of a strong and dynamic reviewing service. You will be expected to contribute to strengths:based assessments utilizing Occupational Therapy skills and knowledge to develop and implement a plan of support, aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering outcomes. The plan may include advice, information, the provision of assistive equipment and recommendations for home adaptation. Youll be expected to use up to date evidence:based practice to inform your intervention and where appropriate carry out risk assessments and undertake assessments under the appropriate adults legislation. There will be a requirement to contribute to Continuing Health Care assessments, utilising specialist knowledge to input into this Multi:Disciplinary assessment. Key responsibilities Undertake strengths:based assessments and reviews; gather information, record accurately, and make decisions to support the persons needs and outcomes. Proactively work with adults, carers, colleagues and other partners to achieve outcomes. Implement Occupational Therapy interventions, including prescribing assistive technology, designing adaptations to peoples homes and providing information and advice to prevent, reduce or delay the need for ongoing support. Record all interventions in line with policy and best practice recording principles. Responsible for the care of, accuracy, confidentiality, security and maintenance of all individuals records and related information, including highly sensitive and confidential issues. Use professional knowledge to negotiate with and on behalf of people who access the service and with a wide range of providers and professionals. Evaluate and monitor progress against planned interventions, responding appropriately to changes in circumstances or where solution is not delivering the required results. Analyse and interpret complex information including research in order to prepare reports, evaluate data and a range of written material.
