Salary starting from $123,444- $144,386 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience

The team
Evidence Analysis, within the Evidence Services team, is responsible for the processing, analysis and management of evidence collected by ASIC. The team provides a consulting service to analyse and manage evidence using various databases and litigation tools to assist enforcement and stakeholder teams to locate and present the evidence to court or other decision-making bodies.
The Digital Forensic (DF) team sits within the wider Evidence Analysis team providing a range of traditional Digital Forensics services related to identifying, acquiring, processing, analysing, and reporting on electronic evidence, as well as supporting internet related investigations and eDiscovery using leading-edge tools and specialised hardware.
As a Digital Forensic Analyst, you will:
Perform forensic preservation and analysis of computing devices, including mobile devices, across large datasets using advanced technology and data query tools to extract and interpret information.
Provide technical advice and training to stakeholder teams on ASIC's forensic procedures and evidence management practices.
Provide analytical support on investigations and/or surveillance cases including analysing data and evaluating its relevance, transforming data into a format that can be used for legal purposes.
Attend search warrants to perform forensic analysis and triage functions.
Monitor developments in industry and analyse technology and market trends to ensure procedures meet evidentiary requirements.
Liaise with key contact points in Evidence Services and stakeholder teams on an investigations forensic requirements and solutions.
Mentor and guide Evidence Services team members involved in investigation procedures requiring forensic analysis.
Manage third party forensic service providers, including the procurement of services,
Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, industry groups and other regulatory bodies
About you
A suitable candidate for this role will have:
A Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data/forensic analysis or similar.
Demonstrated work experience in a legal/consulting practice, forensic service provider or law enforcement agency, with a strong emphasis on technology and evidence-based skills.
Experience and skills relating to managing stakeholder and service delivery expectations, responding to complex enquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and demonstrated digital forensics experience in computer/mobile hardware and business computing; file systems and operating systems (desktop, server, mobile), including the recovery of deleted data, as well as generating timelines based on system artefacts and internet protocols in relation to data extraction and reporting.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in network forensics and OSINT methodologies, including social media analysis.
Experience utilising digital forensics & eDiscovery tools including Nuix, X-Ways, Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, XRY/XAMN, Forensic Explorer.
CFCE, CFE, GCFE and other internationally recognised DFIR industry certifications are highly desirable.
