Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. Job Summary: As the Project Estimator, you will prepare and review the preparation and presentation of the estimate, be responsible for the complete planning, analysis and review cycle of the estimate. You will direct the cost estimate effort on a major project or multiple small projects, providing estimating assistance and guidance to the projects.You will perform department organizational and administrative activities when delegated and provide direction to others on project/program level tasks. This position is designated as part:time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in:person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in:person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities: : Manages the development of estimates from inception to completion.Develop achievable estimate plans, inclusive of budget and schedule, and lead a team of discipline estimators in executing the estimate. : Reviews estimate and ensures quality and integrity.Ensures lessons learned are incorporated into the estimate. : Responsible preparing and presenting presentations to clients and senior management. : Manages estimating strategies with Project Management and joint venture partners as applicable. : Supports development of estimating standards and procedures. : Prepares cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis and cost and quantity comparisons.Develops new techniques as required to meet specific needs. : Other responsibilities as designated.
