We are seeking an appropriately experienced Lead, Injury Management for this full-time, permanent position based at Doncaster. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Recovery, this role is responsible for overseeing a team of Injury Management Advisors, leading, coordinating, planning and implementing best practice strategies and initiatives for the management of early intervention, eligibility, recovery and return to work for work related injuries. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Lead, educate and coach a team of Injury Management Advisors to build a cohesive and collaborative team
Manage a portfolio of injury management / return-to-work cases that require specialist attention
Undertake project and portfolio responsibilities to drive continuous improvement of organisational performance through leading collaboration with key internal stakeholders, AV's authorised WorkSafe Agent and WorkSafe in accordance with AV's strategic objectives
Identify and report on emerging injury trends and return to work barriers and devise strategies to minimise the impact on employees and AV's return to work performance
Develop/review injury management policies, procedures and reference material, identifying opportunities for re-engineering to ensure they are contemporary, compliant and meet organisational requirements
About you
The successful candidate will have Completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience. Additional requirements include but not limited to:
Experience in providing advice and influence in relation to return to work and injury management including dealing with complex recovery pathways and supporting employees with a changed workplace capacity
Sound knowledge of relevant ethical protocols, legal considerations, medical terminology, and confidentiality in accordance with the relevant legislation (including WIRC Act 2013, and FOI Act 1982)
Ability to effectively lead a team whilst driving change and continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to analyse, solve problems and make decisions through application of high-level judgement and critical thinking
High proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
Excellent stakeholder relationship building, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal)
