This opportunity is a one:year contract to provide coverage during a paternity leave Heres how a Graphic Designerfor our Edmonton Industrial Managementoffice contributes to our team: Responsibilities :Develops visually compelling materials, guided by our corporate brand guidelines for internal and external advertising, marketing, visual communications and websites. :Works collaboratively with creative professionals to create visual communications that clearly represent the PCL brand. :Creates visual communication plans for small to mid:size projects and related initiatives, and ensures they are measurable. :Provides graphic design consultation to peers, middle management, internal and external stakeholders and some executives. :Conceptualizes graphic design ideas and content, presenting larger projects to manager. :Creates and enhances brand awareness through internal/external visual communication. :Performs needs:assessment to determine current and future visual communications assets requirements and make recommendations for procuring assets. :Conducts and coordinates printer proofs, quality checks and correspondence with design contributors/vendors. :Adheres to brand guidelines in all visual creation. :Conducts research, interviews and collaborates with subject matter experts to create engaging visuals. Qualifications :Postsecondary degree or diploma in film studies or a related discipline. :5 years of progressive experience in a related field. :Contributes to a multifaceted visual communications plan. :In:depth understanding of the various communications and marketing mediums. :Contributes in the development of strategy and guidelines. :Demonstrates understanding of design and branding principles to create visual communications in line with the company brand. :Experience with pre:press, offset and digital printing process. :Demonstrates intermediate to high:level design skills through current work or portfolio that shows an understanding of impactful visual communications. :Ability to design within graphic standards and guidelines to ensure cohesive visual communications. :Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud and working knowledge in other specialized software required.
