The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Pediatric Medical Unit, the Physiotherapist is responsible for the physiotherapy management of pediatric medical and respiratory referrals. The Physiotherapist provides assessment and interventions while maintaining liaison with medical staff and other interdisciplinary team members. The physiotherapist consults and collaborates with other interdisciplinary team members within the Health Centre and in the community. Responsibilities include attendance at PMU patient care morning huddles daily. The physiotherapist participates in the professional development of services through care team meetings, working groups, and subcommittees as appropriate. The Physiotherapist will also participate in the education of patients and families, Health Centre Staff, and affiliated students. As a member of the physiotherapy service, the Physiotherapist will share responsibility with all IWK PTs for caseload coverage throughout the Health Centre as required, as well as weekend standby and call:back coverage on a rotational basis. Hours of Work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per shift, weekend standby, and call:back coverage on a rotational basis.
