Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties relating to the preparation of permit applications on behalf of municipal authorities, contractors, engineering firms and the general public relating to the crossings of gas transmission pipelines and working within statutory rights of way including: stylemargin:left:40.0px: :preparing, evaluation and processing pipeline permit applications in accordance with the Pipeline Act and FortisBC operating Policies :researching and collecting data from a variety of sources including , Managed Land Rights (MLR) System within AM/FM, files, legal plans , documents, and agreements to ensure accuracy of pipeline and right of way locations, location of work, the rights of FortisBC, legal description of properties and right of way :assigning and recording file and permit numbers within the SAP system :discussing and clarifying proposals with Right of Way representatives as required :researching titles and legal plans :creating, maintaining, recording and closing permit information within the SAP system using information from sources provided :updating permits with terms and conditions, printing the permit, verifying that the final response to the applicant is complete and accurate; forwarding completed permit application to appropriate Right of Way representative for review and signature and dispatching permit to field and updating SAP system with inspector responsible :scanning permits, applications and maps :prepares and posts to the s:drive various files and monthly reports on the status of permits and timelines of processed permits; Performs a variety of public awareness duties including: stylemargin:left:40.0px: :responding verbally and/or in writing, to inquiries related to pipeline operations and right of way use matters from property owners, realtors, prospective home buyers, developers, contractors, and engineering firms; :distributing information mail outs relating to right of way guidelines and policies, pipeline size, legal description, permit requirements and right of way boundaries. :handling customer inquires including phone call from 10 to 35 calls per day, e:mailing and faxing maps, plans, applications and safety information. :receiving and responding to customer requests for inspector in IP or TP laterals :visiting field sites, compile data and assist Right of way Representative as required Performs a variety of clerical duties including; stylemargin:left:40.0px: :receiving and responding to calls from line patrol and cataloguing activity by location and type :setting up and maintaining files relating to land owners, permits and documenting statistics relating to permits and encroachments and maintaining status of unresolved encroachment and permit issues :setting geometries on MLR System :assist with researching and compiling information pertaining to Land Developments that impact FortisBC right of way :performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties including driving a vehicle which do not affect the rating of the job.
