Job Summary
As a Veterinary Pathologist for our team at the Laval location, you will mainly be responsible for tissue evaluation and interpretation of assigned studies. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre:clinical studies.
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
:Perform macroscopic and microscopic tissue evaluation and interpretation of assigned studies;
:Record Histopathology findings in data capturing system;
:Prepare complex reports delineating pathological findings and detailing all test article effects;
:Interact with clients to assure satisfaction and to market services;
:Assist with necropsy supervision and may conduct necropsies, including gross pathology interpretation, sample collection and fixation;
:Work with study directors to ensure data is accurately integrated into study reports;
:Provide training, technical guidance and leadership to laboratory staff and to less experienced pathologists;
:Provide advanced scientific expertise for experimental design and other aspects of research studies;
:Collaborate with other units within the Pathology teams and other departments within the site.
Key Elements
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:
:Doctorate degree (D.V.M/V.M.D.) from an accredited veterinary school, or acceptable international equivalent in veterinary medicine;
:Working knowledge of clinical pathology preferred;
:Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (A.C.V.P.) or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (E.C.V.P) required to enter the level grade;
:Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought;
:Ability to work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple factors;
:Ability to exercise judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods or techniques for obtaining solutions;
:Working knowledge of related computer applications;
:Special interest in digital Pathology and Molecular Pathology as well as digital image analysis is preferred;
:Bilingualism in French and English is mandatory. Good communication skills in both languages is required.
Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

:Permanent position as of the hiring, full:time 37.5hrs per week.
