We are seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to become part of our Hydropower and Dams team in our Niagara Falls office. This is a position for which your focus will be to support and execute hydro and dam:related projects and ensure technical excellence within the existing team. You will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team providing engineering services to large and small hydropower and dams owners in Ontario, across Canada, and globally. In the Niagara Falls office you will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the most exciting hydropower and dam projects worldwide. As a successful candidate, you will: : Perform system analyses, establish user requirements, analyze system functional and performance requirements, define design criteria, and provide input to the design team on layouts and designs : Leading and managing the process of engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion : Interfacing with other engineering disciplines involved in projects, as required : Taking ownership of the high level technical deliverables : Developing preliminary and detailed designs as well as overseeing and guiding the preparation of mechanical drawings and engineering specifications for construction : Being an active participant in technical design reviews and calculation checks : Providing mentoring, coaching, technical guidance and quality assurance to other engineers in order to ensure the technical adequacy of engineering work : Prepare technical specifications based on input received from other disciplines : Manage and review engineering work packages associated with project deliverables including management of project budgets and schedule : Prepare, review or approve technical deliverables such as equipment designs, specifications, data sheets, calculations, etc. : Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise : Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates : Prepare, review or approve project standard specifications and design criteria : Provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings : Participate in and contribute to design reviews : Assist in the commissioning of systems on site as required : Follow company standard quality procedures : Prepare or provide input to propo
