Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Finance Manager – Operations, the Finance Analyst provides financial support and analysis to the finance and plant management teams. The role requires that the incumbent work closely with plant management to identify opportunities to improve results and controls within the plant.  This position is responsible for executing standard control processes on assets and ensuring accuracy of all plant financial reporting. A SNAPSHOT OF SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:Consistent with our leadership values, act as a champion for our culture by participating in the development and execution of a positive and productive environment focused on the needs of our people.Ensure all company financial policies and procedures are adhered to.Provide accurate cost reporting and analysis to the plant management team.Investigate variances, analyze production data, and provide explanations to management.Ensure adherence to tight month-end schedule, prepare closing journal entries and complete account reconciliations.Interpret financial results.Calculate and update product costs, including Standard Costing updates.Perform periodic analysis of overhead spending and provide management with the information required to make future spending decisions.Work with the plant team to ensure that financial documents and business case write ups provide pertinent analysis and sufficient justification to support capital expenditures.Support the overall budget process for the plant, working with functional managers and finance team members.On site C3 custodian to ensure critical inventory and purchasing procedures are in control, and responsible for Quarterly Self-Test submissions.Provide guidance to non-finance members regarding issues of financial control and compliance.Support Production Management and Material Control with regular inventory count review and perform re-counts and random verification checking when required / applicable. WHAT YOU WILL BRING:Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Business considered an asset or has a combination of relevant education and work experienceAccounting Designation or actively working towards CPA.Must possess strong skills in:Excel (high proficiency)Attention to detailProblem-solvingPlanning and organizationInterpersonalCommunication (written and verbal)Experience in farming, logistics or feedmill operations as an assetAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
