Location of Work: Primary: Willow Creek Mine Site, Willow Creek Mine Service Road, Chetwynd, BC, V0C1J0 Additional: Brule Mine Site, Brule Forest Service Road, Chetwynd, BC, V0C1J0 Wolverine Mine Site, Wolverine Forest Service Road, Tumbler Ridge, BC, V0C2W0 Quintette Mine, Murray FSR, Tumbler Ridge, BC V0C 2W0 Title of Position: Heavy Equipment Operators (NOC 73400) Language: English Vacancies: 10 Type of Position: Permanent, full-time Job Duties: · Operate rigid-frame haul trucks to transport overburden, waste rock, and coal from the mine, and perform other tasks as required; or · Operate tracked dozers to efficiently manage dumps, move coal, and perform other tasks as required; or · Operate graders to level and maintain mine haul roads and perform other tasks as required; or · Operate excavators to efficiently clean and move coal, load trucks, and perform other tasks; or · Operate shovels to efficiently load trucks with coal and waste, and perform other tasks as required; or · Operate loaders efficiently in surface coal mining environment, and perform other tasks as required. · Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform pre-trip checks and complete FLHA's on a regular basis. · Ensure adherence to Conuma's workplace policies and standard operating procedures. · Identify and report risks, near misses and incidents with the goal of supporting and developing Conuma's excellent safety standards. · Other duties and tasks as assigned. Skills Required: · Must be able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation. · Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labour often at heights. · Proven safety and attendance record. · Willingness to learn. · Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions. · Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, trainees, and leadership. · First Aid/Mine Rescue Training is considered an asset. Experience Required: · 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training · Additional on-the-job training will be provided Education Required: · Secondary school education required. Wage & Hours: $40.03 - 44.52 /h · Number of hours per day: 12 · Number of days per week: 7 · Number of hours per week: 42 · Overtime starts after how many hours: 42 · Shift rotation (as applicable): 7 ON and 7 OFF, so the average is 42 hours per week. · As the employees work under a variance, each employee will receive pay for 4 hours of overtime per rotation (every 2 weeks) if the full hours are met within the two-week rotation. (80 hours are paid at straight time, 4 hours paid at time and a half/overtime).
