Job Description: The Opportunity: The Material Supply Specialist reports to the Purchasing Leader and will be responsible for ordering and monitoring of Indirect Materials and services to support production as well as provide support to the team on support with direct materials when required. Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:Monitor supplies to ensure availability to meet production demands.Responsible for indirect purchasing within the departmentWork with Sanitation, HR, H&S, QA, CI and Traffic teams to ensure purchase orders are placed as requiredWork with the Purchasing Leader and designated suppliers to implement cost reduction proposals, product standardization, and promotion of best practices.Work within SAP, SAP SRM, set up vendors and prepare purchase ordersWork with AP to resolve invoicing issuesInteract with shipping/receiving, purchasing and production to ensure the daily requirements for production are metInvestigate discrepancies in inventory and drive continuous improvementWork with QA and H&S to ensure new products being ordered are approved for use in the facilityResponsible for ensuring that confirmation of receiving on (s/b of) PO’s is completed accurately, will investigate any discrepancies through open PO reportingMaintain vendor relationshipsDrive process improvements within the Material Control areasEnsures duties are performed with compliance to food safety and health and safety standardsOther support for Purchasing Team as required What You’ll Bring:2 years’ experience in an inventory/purchasing roleAdvanced Working knowledge of SAP, SAP SRM & AribaAdvanced skills in MS OfficeExcellent time management, multi-tasking, and communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detailAbility to work with and alongside a team What We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:Being part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.An inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.Competitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
