About us:
Transportation Services supports and manages all forms of transportation on the St. George campus including campus shuttles, parking, parking permits, EV charging and bike sharing.
Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Parking Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of the Parking Control Officers on the St. George Campus. The Supervisor ensures that day to day operations are carried out in a productive and efficient manner and that a high standard of customer service is maintained. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the conditions of all the parking facilities on the St. George campus. Duties are performed by travelling throughout campus while in uniform. The Parking Supervisor handles customer enquiries referred by Parking Control Officers and contracted enforcement agencies. The Parking Supervisor provides status reports to the Operations Manager and communicates any parking related issues that require escalation. The Parking Supervisor is responsible for administrative tasks such as preparing staff schedules, documenting attendance, and submitting information for payroll. The Parking Supervisor maintains equipment and monitors supply inventory.
Your responsibilities will include:
:Supervising non:USW bargaining unit employees including scheduling staff and training/coaching casual staff
:Investigating parking related violations and referring sensitive or complex cases to management for resolution
:Following rules and procedural instructions when tagging, towing and/or issuing warning tags for illegally park vehicles
:Providing detailed explanations on parking and ticketing procedures
:Determining alternatives for temporary parking and performing site check of parking lots
:Applying established standards when enforcing parking protocols
:Interpreting and applying rules to determine best course of action for operational issues
:Generating standard financial reports and reconciling funds collected from parking ticket dispensers on a regular basis
Essential Qualifications:
:College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
:Minimum four (4) years of related supervisory experience with two (2) years of supervisory experience in parking enforcement.
:Training and experience utilizing modern parking techniques and methodologies.
:Valid class G license with a clean driving abstract.
:Ability to obtain and maintain the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO) certification, for the purposes of issuing parking infraction notices and towing of vehicles .
:Knowledge of parking enforcement software i.e. AIMS, ParkSuite etc.
