Our residences include Chestnut Residence, Oak House, Graduate House, and Knox Residence. Your opportunity: The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC), reporting to the Assistant Dean, Residence Life, plays a key role in cultivating a supportive, safe, and vibrant community within our student residences. They directly supervise a team of Residence Dons and provide guidance and leadership in their support of students. The RLC also plays a central role in student support by offering direct assistance, facilitating referrals to campus resources, and maintaining a visible presence in theresidence community. Additionally, they are responsible for investigating and adjudicating potential violations of Community Standards, ensuring a fair and educational conduct process. The RLC promotes community development, academic success, and the personal growth of residents through program implementation and support, policy development, and daily engagement with students. They also collaborate with the broader S and E Student Residences team to facilitate the operational and maintenance systemsnecessary to sustain these initiatives. The RLC lives in residence and participates in an on:call rotation, responding to after:hours issues, emergencies, and incidents. The incumbent must be student:centred and demonstrate a genuine commitment to building strong relationships within the residence community, actively participating in student events, and maintaining an open and accessible office. Your responsibilities will include: :Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities :Advising students on the interpretation of rules and regulations regarding the use of space and organizing events on campus :Determininglogistical details and activities for events and/or programming :Providing formal job:related training :Training and coaching student life staff and student leaders :Directing the activities of casual staff :Coaching residence student staff on handling personal and non:personal complaints Essential Qualifications: :Bachelors Degree or acceptable combination of recent and equivalent education and experience. :Minimum two years of recent experience living and working in a post:secondary residence setting. :Proven ability to provide direct student support, responding to personal, academic, and emotional concerns. :Experience investigating and adjudicating student conduct issues, with a strong understanding of community standards, policies, and procedures. :Experience managing emergency situations and responding to incidents within a student residential community. :Proven leadership and supervisory skills with a track record of mentoring and guiding student staff and student leaders. :Demonstrated ability to create and maintain inclusive and supportive student communities. :Proven experience in promoting student engagement and involvement in co:curricular activities and programs. :Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive situations and foster positive outcomes in a student environment. :Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse student populations, staff, and other stakeholders. :Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and deadlines. :K
