The role: The Supplier Management Specialist is responsible for the overall management of enterprise third party relationships throughout the contract lifecycle to optimize value and mitigate risk. This entails (i) the identification of the internal partner needs, (ii) fulfillment of needs through identification of Suppliers to provide goods / services, (iii) evaluation of cost and quality, (iv) execution of strategic vision, (v) management of the Supplier/client relationship, and finally (vi) problem resolution. The Supplier Management Specialist will act as a subject matter expert on industry trends/ best practices, providing advice and counsel to various stakeholders. In addition, the Supplier Management Specialist may be responsible for other duties as assigned. What will you do? : Management of assigned Suppliers: : Liaison between Bank internal stakeholders and Suppliers to provide operational governance and oversight. : Participate as subject matter expert and facilitates in the research, development and implementation of requests for proposals, requests for information and service level agreements for various project teams throughout Scotiabank and its subsidiaries by having an in:depth knowledge of commodities, services, contracts and industry best practices. : Project Management leading implementations of new initiatives and identify areas of opportunities for continuous improvement. : Collaborate and build business cases and internal policy. : Manage overall Supplier relationship with business units to optimize and drive value for the Bank. : Lead Supplier review meetings (onsite or offsite), on monthly, quarterly, or annual frequency to ensure compliance and governance to third party risk management and procurement policy. : Negotiate contracts and amendments to various contracts when required relative to pricing, deliveries, scope of work, financial and accounting requirements. : Work closely with internal payables unit to ensure invoice accuracy, validation, and settlement. : Proactively identify opportunities within assigned contracts in the areas of savings, cost avoidance, digitization, and process efficiencies. : Continually identify opportunities to increase services provided to other departments by leveraging suppliers in order to support business units. : Be accountable for Supplier performance management, compliance, and governance: : Analyze and develop Supplier dashboards to monitor service level agreement through key performance indicators, score cards, and spend analysis. : Spot check invoice accuracy to ensure compliance to contracted pricing and report deficiencies to appropriate parties. : Consolidation of data to facilitate business intelligence for executive dashboards and make recommendations to drive senior management decision making. : Drive global compliance to internal policies and Regulatory requirements. : Provide a high level of communication and support by: : Respond, in a timely manner to correspondence from various lines of business : Prioritize issues based on risk exposure and monetary concerns, resolve accordingly and escalate where necessary to Bank management or external Suppliers at appropriate levels. : Provide backup and support for all other Corporate Services Supplier Relationship Specialists and Manager in times of absence and/or special projects. : Develop and maintain relationships with internal business stakeholders. : Manage record keeping: : Maintain and keep current files on all assigned contracts, service level reports, requests for proposals, requests for information, requisitions, purchase orders and supporting correspondence in order to be instantly attainable by all Supplier Relationship Manag
