This course is designed for students who want to explore social enterprise start:ups, as well as those students who are just curious about the field and want to learn more about entrepreneurship and explore career opportunities. Students will learn the requisite knowledge and skills to develop their own health business feasibility plan that explores starting a new social venture, nonprofit, or commercial enterprise. The University of Toronto instructor will be co:facilitating the course with their KNUST counterpart. Partnering University: Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Minimum qualifications: Master's Degree or higher in Health Sciences or a related field. Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in teaching, project management, social innovation projects, translational research, and student evaluation. Description of duties: The instructor will be responsible for achieving the course objectives: broadening students understanding of the ecosystem, identifying social problems, and fostering social value creation. They will need an introduction to the role of social entrepreneurs in addressing societal issues and driving impactful change. The instructor will be responsible for designing class activities and take:home activities, creating the mid:term and contributing to the final examination.
