Title of the position: Specialty Foods Baker NOC: 63202 Starting date: ASAP Job duties: · Prepare and bake a variety of Chinese specialty foods, including Liangpi, Mo, Red Bean Pancake, Salted Egg Pastry, Sweetheart Cake, Flower-Shaped Jujube Puff Cake, and Ox Tongue Pastry, according to traditional Chinese recipes and specifications. · Ensure consistency and quality in all baked goods, paying close attention to flavour, texture, and presentation. · Develop a daily production schedule and estimate the quantity of baking ingredients, considering the sales numbers of previous days. · Measure or weigh flour and other ingredients using scales or graduated containers to prepare batters, doughs, and fillings. · Combine measured ingredients in mixing, blending, or baking machinery bowls. · Set time and speed controls for mixing or blending machines, ensuring ingredients will be mixed according to instructions. · Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to make the specialty pastries, etc. · Place dough in pans and moulds, or put on sheets and bake in production ovens. · Observe the colour of products being baked and adjust oven temperatures, humidity, or conveyor speeds accordingly. · Check equipment to ensure it meets health and safety regulations and perform maintenance or cleaning, as necessary. · Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning. Clean and maintain production or processing equipment. · Prepare or maintain inventory or production records. Record operational or production data. · Order or receive supplies or equipment. Check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards and specifications are met.
