Job Description The Design Technician will assist the Kinross technical team to manage and control the engineering firms that will be assigned to develop the detailed engineering for the Great Bear Project. This person will be working on general project layouts to provide concepts to the engineering firms for them to develop the detailed design. Ideally, this person has basic knowledge in various disciplines, such as civil, structural, mechanical and piping as well as processing plant flowsheets and P and IDs in order to modify them under the Kinross engineering manager's supervision. Finally, the Design Technician will assist the GBR team in preparing presentation and reports for the project. The candidate must be proficient in design software with excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication, and oral presentation skills. Job Responsibilities : To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: : Prepare conceptual designs and drawings for the Great Bear Project. : Review CAD drawings from consultants. : Ensure consultants follow Kinross' established standards and guidelines. : Involvement in coordination of the consultant's drawing filing into Kinross' system. : Consolidate 2D drawings from multiple sources. Experience with consolidating 3D models is an asset.
