Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.  Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. To support ongoing and future project delivery, Bechtel is currently seeking a Contract Formation/ Administration Professional to join the team at our sites in GCC countries (Arab states:  Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates). Job Summary: In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements. #LI-AR2 Major Responsibilities: Subcontract Management Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project’s agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties  Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters  Manages less complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement  Communicates information programs to ensure mutual understanding of subcontract terms and conditions Prepares periodic status reports for management  Subcontract Formation  Conforms and ensures subcontract execution  Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts  Prepares bidders’ lists and pre-qualifies bidders  Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders  Coordinates bidders’ questions and answers to those questions  Receives bids and evaluates bids commercially  Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations  Recommends and secures approvals in accordance with established procedures  Prepares subcontract documents for execution  Prepares and organizes assigned meetings, such as pre-bid, bid clarification and pre-award meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual matters  After reviewing plan and agenda with supervisor, conducts meeting and prepares and issues meeting notes delineating important statements, required actions and schedules  Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in formation activities including prequalification, tender and award of small to medium sized contracts, construction contracts and services contracts. Experience in subcontract management including change management activities Demonstrated skills in working and communicating effectively with other project functional groups.  Experience in negotiating terms and conditions.
