Lighting / Daylight Consultant : Birmingham : GBP35,000 to GBP45,000 + Benefits A growing UK:based Environmental and Engineering Consultancy is seeking a Lighting / Daylight Consultant to join their multidisciplinary team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with experience in daylight and lighting assessments to support projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors. Essential Criteria: * Proven experience in lighting consultancy, including Daylight/Sunlight and Lighting Impact Assessments. * Knowledge of BRE guidelines and UK lighting regulations. * Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience using SketchUp or Waldrum Tools for daylight modelling. * Excellent report writing skills and strong attention to technical accuracy. * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable Criteria: * Progress towards ILP membership or equivalent. * Familiarity with current planning guidance and environmental impact reporting. * Experience liaising with clients, design teams, and planning authorities. The Role: Youll deliver detailed daylight and sunlight assessments, lighting calculations, and overshadowing analysis for a range of developments. This role involves both site:based and office:based work, contributing to technical documents and planning submissions. Youll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant project delivery. Key Responsibilities: * Completing daylight, sunlight, and lighting impact assessments. * Developing 2D and 3D models using industry:standard tools. * Writing technical reports to support planning applications. * Attending site visits and client meetings. * Collaborating with colleagues across environmental and engineering disciplines.
