Assistant Ecologist : Derby GBP25,000 : GBP30,000 (DOE) Were working with a respected, independent environmental consultancy based near Derby thats continuing to grow steadily. Theyre now looking for an Assistant Ecologist : ideally someone with some early consultancy experience : whos ready to take the next step in their ecological career. Youll join a friendly, multidisciplinary team of around 40:50 people, including ecologists, arboriculturists, archaeologists, landscape architects, and construction professionals. Its a supportive environment where quality work is valued more than ticking boxes, and where your input will be heard and appreciated. What youll be doing: * Assisting with ecological surveys and site assessments * Writing technical reports (PEAs, PRAs, BNG assessments, UKHab surveys, etc.) * Supporting senior ecologists and contributing to project planning and delivery * Visiting sites, liaising with clients, and helping deliver meaningful ecological outcomes What were looking for: * A relevant degree (e.g., Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation) * Some experience in ecological consultancy or fieldwork * A full, clean UK driving licence Bonus skills (not essential): * Bird ID and/or ornithological survey experience * One or more protected species survey licences Whats in it for you: * Competitive salary: GBP25,000 : GBP30,000, depending on experience * Paid overtime * Company laptop and iPhone * Use of company vehicles for site visits * One extra week off at Christmas * Flexible/hybrid working options * Generous holiday allowance * Unlimited training budget + paid professional memberships * A genuinely supportive team and clear opportunities for progression This is a full:time, permanent role based near Derby.
