Job Description
About the Role:
A welcoming, inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking a confident, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral team with an immediate start. This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong background in supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and managing challenging behaviours in a school setting.
You will work closely with the schools SENCO, pastoral lead and class teachers to support identified pupils across the school, both in:class and through targeted interventions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional resilience and engagement with learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
*
Deliver targeted intervention programmes to develop pupils social, emotional and behavioural skills
*
De:escalate challenging situations calmly and safely, using positive behaviour management strategies
*
Work in partnership with teachers, parents and external agencies to support individual pupils development plans
*
Maintain accurate records and contribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding protocols
Essential Candidate Requirements:
*
Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in a school or alternative provision
*
Strong understanding of positive behaviour management techniques and de:escalation strategies
*
Experience delivering targeted behaviour, anger management or social skills interventions
*
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting, professional relationships
*
A calm, empathetic and consistent approach to behaviour support
*
Up:to:date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete prior to starting)
*
Team Teach, MAPA or other relevant behaviour intervention training (desirable but not essential)
*
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for all children.
