About The Role Introduction and overall purpose of the role Ibrox Stadium is a bustling, dynamic and award-winning venue, hosting thousands of events each year, from small meetings occupying a single room to political party conferences covering the entire venue's facilities. Many events are back-to-back and run concurrently, and it's critical that each of the event spaces are spotless, and ready for event organisers to load-in their event infrastructure. The Deputy Cleaning Manager's main role is to support the Operations Project Manager in delivering the cleaning and waste contract according to the service level agreement at Glasgow Rangers, leading the team to deliver exceptional standards safely and effectively both during events and day to day (including planned periodic work). The Deputy role will provide the necessary management support to ensure there is management coverage across all events, seven days a week and will be trained to stand in for the Operational Project manager in their absence. They will proactively liaise with event stakeholders, ensuring our team maintains high standards throughout events and refreshing waste bins / washrooms, whilst responding efficiently to any reactive housekeeping requests and managing waste effectively to maximise recycling. The DM will work in partnership with the venue's operations team and event stakeholders to proactively plan for and debrief events to ensure ongoing improvement over time. Maintaining a resilient team across our core, response and event teams will be critical, and this will include motivating employees, developing them and supporting them at every opportunity to maximise both wellbeing and retention. Everyone working at Glasgow Rangers is working to improve the visitor experience at the venue and we will work our venue colleagues as one team to achieve this by maintaining exceptional standards at all times. The DM will develop a proactive partnership with Rangers FC, where we actively support the venue team and help them achieve their own goals. Main Duties&Responsibilities of the Role Support the Operational Project Manager in all cleaning and waste operations. Ensure an efficient delivery of a quality service at all times, working closely with venue stakeholders to understand their priorities and expectations. Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained through compliance with all company health and safety policies and procedures. Manage the department rota pattern including lieu time and holidays to ensure effective labour profile for service delivery compliance at all times. Forge and maintain positive relations with internal and external stakeholders, further developing current relationships with venue stakeholders to ensure improvements in waste reduction / recycling. Optimise use of available resources to ensure service meets expectation, ensuring the team are tasked efficiently and effectively scheduling to operational demands Support the OPM to manage the budget, continually reviewing all factors affecting the operation including agency staff, staff payroll, uniforms consumables etc. Ensure appropriate levels of staff retention through effective leadership, motivation and support. Support the core, response and event team providing guidance and specialist expertise to the team. Drive change, new ideas and challenge current operating procedures implementing best practice across the structure. Conduct recruitment interviews to ensure vacancies are filled with suitable staff. Ensure new employees have full induction and training. Ensure any disciplinary or grievance issues are investigated thoroughly and procedures followed in liaison with our team's HR Business Partner. Monitor and manage absence rates for the team in line with service level agreement. Provide a high focus on customer service ensuring that the team courteously communicate with members of the public, venue stakeholders and our client at all times. Ensure the internal site quality audits are undertaken providing a detailed action plan to manage any non-compliance. Ensure all site related risk assessments and COSHH records are continually monitored, reviewed and updated as necessary. Ensure that the performance of subcontractors for the site meets the high standards expected, by setting clear objectives and quarterly documented reviews of progress. Ensure all equipment assets are maintained to the highest standards at all times, minimising any downtime, working with our equipment suppliers as required. Control and authorisation of the commercial aspects of the operation ensuring budgets are appropriately managed e.g. purchase orders raised on time and stock controls are being implemented and adhered to. Deliver IMPACT cleaning training to housekeeping supervisors and operatives. Attend daily/weekly/monthly business meetings with client as required and ensure they are kept updated on any issues impacting the site. Lead from the front, demonstrating our values (care, safety, trustworthy, and expert) through their own behaviour. Maximise waste reduction/recycling figures and reducing carbon emissions through promoting best practice both across our own team and wider venue stakeholders. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Venue Housekeeping Manager to meet the needs of the business.Educational Level Highly literate and numerate (essential) Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to a high standard Understand budgets and basic accounts Professional Qualifications required for the job BICSc / IMPACT qualified or equivalent (OCS will train if not) IOSH certification (OCS will train if not) Knowledge of other soft services and experience in a similar delivery is preferred Waste management and environment experience to an ISO9001 / 14001 level is desirable. Experience -previous experience -desirable/essential for technical competence of the role Previous experience in a housekeeping / cleaning management role within a large site Experience of managing a large team of people including staff on substantive and casual contracts Experience of operating within the events/hospitality business Proven record of managing, motivating, developing and retaining a workforce.
