What you'll do on a typical day: : Bethe primary contact point for customers and haulier partners : Ensure that safety, service and savings targets are adhered to : Working with a team ethos to ensure an excellent and valued service is provided to all customers : Proactively prevent accidents and reduce hazards by ensuring that Company Policy, Health and Safety Standards and standards of housekeeping are always followed : Creating cost effective haulage plans in line with the customer's expectations and Service Level Agreements. : To have the ability to react and positively adapt to the demands of the customers in a dynamic live environment. : Consistency in communication with respect to planning changes and service delivery with both customers and supplier hauliers is critical and must always be maintained. : Possess commercial awareness in line with baseline protocols ensuring ad hoc deliveries are agreed effectively and recorded. : Work with the Finance Team to resolve customer and haulier issues. : A team player with a flexible approach to working hours, showing commitment as necessary to satisfying fluctuating business demands. : Ensuring effective and efficient use of the transport planning systems adopting best practise and general housekeeping. What you need to succeed at XPO: : An understanding of transport planning and industry standards : Excellent communication skills : you'll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders : Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook : The ability to work to deadlines efficiently and effectively : Experience of working in a cost:sensitive environment. : Experience of transport planning in a 3PL environment is desirable. : Good working knowledge of UK Geography. : Experience in using transport planning software.
