This AP School also has a prevention team that attempts to support students at risk of being excluded from mainstream education via its Outreach Workers. What is the Outreach Workerrole? Outreach workers attempt to help students that are struggling in mainstream education for a variety of reasons remain in mainstream schooling. This takes place in their own school, at their home and in the AP Schools care. Who can be an Outreach Worker? Successful Outreach Workers have good experience working in schools. They can be teachers who no longer want to teach, support staff in terms of Teaching Assistants or Academic Mentors or they can be from external agencies that work in schools. The most important part of the role is an understanding nature and the desire to help students regain their confidence and love of education.
