Development Chemist Swindon, Wiltshire SN3 A GBP 30,000 per annum Are you an experienced Chemist with a background in Development, looking for a new and exciting opportunity with a International Manufacturing Business ? Role Purpose We are seeking a Development Chemist to join our small but dynamic team specializing in the development of coating products for the automotive industry. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including formulation, testing, and technical support, ensuring products meet stringent industry standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Product Development: * Formulate and develop automotive coating products, including primers, basecoats, and clear coats, tailored to customer specifications and industry standards. * Conduct stability testing and quality checks to ensure product consistency and performance. Testing and Application: * Develop and validate methods in accordance with customer requirements and relevant legislative guidelines. * Conduct laboratory testing and apply products to assess performance under various conditions. * Perform product trials both in the laboratory and at customer facilities/sites. Technical Reporting and Support: * Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to support product development and regulatory compliance. * Provide technical support to the production team to ensure smooth scale:up and manufacturing processes. Compliance and Safety: * Ensure all activities adhere to health, safety, and regulatory guidelines. * Stay up:to:date with relevant industry regulations and legislative requirements. Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competences Essential: * A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (e.g., liquid engineering). * Strong understanding of coating technologies and formulation processes. Desirable: * Previous industrial experience in a similar role, particularly within the automotive sector. * Familiarity with working in a small business environment and adaptability to handle repetitive tasks when necessary.
