As a key member of the Supply Chain team, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of warehouse activities at Highland Valley Copper. Responsibilities :Be a Courageous Safety Leader: Champion a culture of safety by adhering to and promoting Teck's health, safety, and environmental standards. Lead by example in all safety practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies. :Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, coach, and mentor warehouse personnel. Provide clear direction, conduct training and cross:training, and support professional development to build a high:performing team. :Inventory and Materials Management: Oversee the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of materials. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of variances. Implement best practices in inventory control and warehouse layout optimization. :Operational Excellence: Monitor warehouse KPIs and transactional data to ensure service levels meet operational requirements. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in line with Lean principles and Teck's commitment to excellence. :Asset and Facility Management: Ensure warehouse infrastructure, equipment, and tools are maintained to safe and operational standards. Coordinate preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety inspections and certifications. :Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate material availability. Foster respectful and effective communication across departments and with external vendors. :Sustainability and Compliance: Support Teck's sustainability goals by promoting responsible resource use, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship within warehouse operations. :Budgeting and Planning: Assist in the development and management of warehouse budgets, forecasts, and long:range planning. Monitor expenditures and implement corrective actions as needed. Qualifications :Minimum 5 years of progressive warehouse experience in a mining, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environment. :Proven leadership experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a unionized setting. :Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, warehouse best practices, and safety regulations. :Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo). :Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. :Strong analytical and decision:making abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
